Suppressive treatment — In case the patient has frequent or
brutal outbreaks, then he is prescribed one 250-mg pill, twice a day, for up
to 1 year to suppress the genital herpes virus and help to prevent
outbreaks.
Patients with HIV — Famvir medicine is the only prescribed oral
antiviral therapy intended for treating genital or orolabial herpes in
people infected with HIV. In patients with herpes simplex and HIV, the dose
of Famvir medicine is 500 mg, two times a day, for 7 days.

patient is being treated with Famvire. One should avoid letting infected
areas come into contact with other people. One should avoid touching an
infected area and then touching the eyes. One should wash the hands very
frequently to prevent the passing of infection to others.
